What’s new with MNsure

  • Renewals are ongoing. Annual renewals for Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare, which resumed in April 2023, are ongoing. MinnesotaCare renews at the end of the calendar year,  and Medical Assistance renews one year from the month you applied. It is important to make sure your contact information is up to date so that you get your renewal! A few important things to know:
    • Renewals will be sent by mail, and you will need to complete the renewal at the time it is sent to you.
    • Not sure how to update your information? DHS has posted link to the appropriate agency.
    • Many people who get a renewal will need to take action in order to stay insured. Navigators can help with completing a renewal.
  • More people qualify for MinnesotaCare. Is your family coverage expensive?  Spouses and/or kids might qualify for low-cost MinnesotaCare!  If your gross household income is at/below this amount, and you’re paying for family coverage through employer-sponsored insurance, you may qualify for MinnesotaCare:
Household Members Annual Household Income
1 $27,180
2 $36,620
3 $46,060
4 $55,500
5 $64,940
6 $74,380
  • More people qualify for premium tax credits. Spouses and kids currently covered under employer-based family coverage might qualify for premium tax credits, making Qualified Health Plans through MNsure an option that saves you money.
